Let me begin by saying that I have been on 4chan mostly lurking since when GETs were a rare occurrence. I was here for Raptor Jesus. I was here for the very first Habbo raid. I was here to bear witness upon all of the lingo, image macros, and memes that got popular/ripped off by other sites and went mainstream many years after they were old news here.
I feel like twitchplayspokemon has captured the spirit of 4chan and has recreated that fun chaotic feeling I have always gotten from 4chan and especially the old 4chan. I have been in the stream from a bit after the 2nd gym badge and it has been extremely enjoyable. Accomplishing things despite the chaos has been very challenging, fun, and rewarding. It has spawned tons of OC and lore surrounding the run and fun conflicts in the community like Helix/Dome, Eevee/Lapras, Daycare, etc.
But we now have a huge problem.
With the addition of Democracy mode, Influx of Reddit fags gathering in #twitchplayspokemon on Freenode have been coordinating and pushing for Democracy. There is good evidence of it being only a few people and using a small couple dozen bots to single-handedly play the game in Democracy mode. Up until now, Anarchists have managed to keep it at bay with start9 but we almost just had a catastrophic event where Democracy would have easy-mode'd getting into the daycare. Fortunately nothing got deposited and the situation defused without Democracy accomplishing anything.
