>GreninjaSomething completely new to the Water starters, fast and frail has never been done before and Greninja nails it perfectly. While it's not sweeping teams left and right, it has just enough moves to utilize Protean for hazards, hit & run, and a dash of mind games for Weaknesses and STABS-9/10
>SwampertAlthough a mere shell of it's OU former glory and set diversity, Swampert still manages its way onto a decent number of teams. Water/Ground is a godteir typing and with that bulk it can take a good, even boosted neutral hit as well as dish one out. But when getting Damp a gen too late simultaneously with the Explosion nerf, and Gastrodon + Quagsire getting their buffs, Swamps was left in the dust as a SR lead-5/10
>FeraligatrIf Sheer Force ever comes out, it will be a monster. DDance Life Orb Waterfall, Ice Punch, and Crunch busted through just about damn near everything in DWOU last gen, but since Azumarill completely walls it among others things now, it'll have to get those checks dead before tearing out. Oh well, at least Steel lost it's Dark resist-7/10
>EmpoleonDefinitely one of a kind, not a lot of Steel types have good SpecialD, so a resist to Draco Meteor and the like is great. Decent special power with a very solid typing that has exploitable "bait & switch" qualities. Also bulky enough to phase with Roar, set up SR, or rid of it with Defog, it's just quirky enough to support your team if need be-6/10
>SamurottProbably the biggest offensive movepool of all Water starters. But that's pretty much it, kinda slow and hits decently, not much else to say. Shell Smash and/or Swift Swim would help out a lot-4/10
>Blastoise(Mega)Up until its Mega, Blastoise was a decent allround bulky water. Okay D's, Rapid Spin, access to CounterCoat, but severely outclassed by others with recovery/better stats. Now with ACTUAL coverage and Mega Launcher, it can do some shit that only Scarf Water Spout can boast-8/10
