How do people manage to gen mons with illegal pokeballs that seem to pass the checks? Im trying to do this with a 5 IV Squirtle in a Great Ball, but it won't be transferred :L

Why not just friend safari a wartortle in a great ball and breed it?

I did this to get them in dive balls

OHH your trying to breed a perfect Squirtle I misread you.. Thought you just wanted it in the ball

it took me about 2 hours to get a 5iv squirtle in a dive ball, Modest, with 4 egg moves.

What type of blastoise are you building btw?

Mega Blastoise is pretty crappy without its gen 6 egg moves anyway

aaaannnd thats why I went with the friend safari instead of genning one.

Cant make the best use of his Mega without them.

There's your problem. Squirtles can't be in a great ball unless they're HA, and if they're HA they can't be female.

Currently snagging the Johto starters in premier balls, making sure that they're female so I can breed a bunch of Premier Ball Johto starters once I transfer them to Pokémon Bank.

I wonder how many fools will assume hacks.

I transferred a Cincinno with a dream ball and skill link, which is illegal because skill link was available only in-game. If you're having trouble try putting the hacked mon with one or more legit ones ready to bank.

The checks don't notice the balls if they came from the right generation of game.
I have my Fast Ball Cyndaquil thanks to that.

I've been able to get plenty of Gen 5 'mons in apricorn balls through bank as well as 'mons with their HA in apricorn balls through bank.

The checks are really mostly strict about location and ability from what I've noticed. For apricorn ball mons in Gen V, they need to look like they were caught instead of bred. Johto Starters I gen for HGSS format since they can't be caught in any method in Gen V.

Yeah, that's the only thing I really noticed that will catch it. Anything that was bred has to be in a Pokeball. If I want egg moves I've got to gen another.

Sums up what I did to get mine through as well lol

In-game filter is a bit more strict so you can't trade genned illegal ball mons right off the bat but making Kalos-bred ones isn't a problem anyway. Funny thing I noticed is that it ignores HA on non-Grotto mons if they were distributed released legitimately.
