Aegislash, Greninja, Tyrantrum and Carbink were definite planned team members when I got the game. Wasn't sure what I wanted for the remaining two, but I had no Pokemon other than Frogadier on my team since none of the wildmons interested me until the grass where you find Honedge. Nincada was a pleasant surprise at that point so I ended up training a Ninjask and later on got a Larvitar from a friend, which I had intended to use as my Mega but only found out later the stone was postgame only.
In White, I planned for Samurott, Whimsicott, Scolipede, Krookodile, Druddigon and Reuniclus but Cottonee wasn't pulling its weight and I managed to get a Snivy from GTS, so it replaced Cottonee.
