Is it just me or is the feel of the original G/S/C superior to HG/SS? Like, I'm not just being unintentionally nostalgic, am I?
I don't like most of the remixed music. Some of it feels over-complicated and some of it is just boring. The original music had this charm to it that I can't quite place. G/S/C had my favorite soundtrack of the series and I was so excited to hear it updated for HG/SS. And then it actually came out...and it just didn't click like I thought it would. I was so excited when I found out about the GB Player (even though the soundfont they came up with for it is utter shit).
The visuals don't feel as good, either. It seems like the HG/SS versions would be objectively superior but every time I see a map or screenshot of HG/SS's overworld I just think "wow, it looks so odd".
Am I the only one? I've been replaying the series lately and when thinking about replaying HG I just think "I kinda wanna do Crystal instead," even though the whole goal of this replay is to transfer up to X/Y.
