so ive always enjoyed pokemon and followed it since the beginning, but gen 6 is the only generation i've made an effort to try competitive battling. so i could use help and advice
I started off with a quagsire and sylveon and its grown into this

so thats the team im trying to find a mega to fill the last slot and i've thought about bannette or possibly venusaur. if you guys could give some thoughts i would appreciate it

thanks for the help, why scald if im gonna be using toxic? it just seems like the burn chance is nearly pointless that way and waterfall suits quagsires physical atk stat. mabye im not looking at the big picture . do you use it for the ability to thaw and affecting steel types?

Don't listen to anon, your Quagsire set is fine.

Sylveon is good, you only need Pixilate if you're running Hyper Voice or Hyper Beam. If you're dead set on it being a special sweeper, go Modest over quiet. Move those Sp. Def EVs, because it has more than enough. I think Draining Kiss is a bit redundant with Wish; might be better with protect or a status move. I personally run Bold with max Def investment.

I really like to run Assault Vest on Goodra, though most people expect it and don't bother to use special attacks on it. It's really useful for switch ins on stuff like M. Charizard Y(sap sipper has great synergy with Quagsire). Give Sylveon the Leftovers.

Infernape: Needs Flare Blitz. It's frail and needs to KO, or it risks getting hurt badly. The trade off in recoil damage is worth it.

The only holes I see in your team is are lack of priority moves bar Mach Punch, which is also your fastest and frailest Pokemon.

Your team also misses a few necessary moves, like Whirlwind or Defog, or hazard setters and status spreaders.

I might even recommend running Togekiss over Sylveon, just for T-Wave spreading and Wish passing. The T-Wave support will let your slower mons breathe.

And your 6th slot....M. Venusaur isn't a bad choice at all.

And at a second glance, you might wanna replace Avalugg (as much as I love it) with:

Skarmory @Red Card
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Def
Impish

Stealth Rock
Whirlwind
Brave Bird
Roost

Covers a lot of ground. Earthquake and Toxic immune, can use Whirlwind on annoying/dangerous set up users and goes through protect/substitute. The Red Card is for switching in on something that you need to remove, and after setting up your rocks you can heal off residual damage or use another WW to shuffle around.

Also, Vacuum Wave is wasted on Scizor (really bad special attack stat, not boosted by same typing like Bullet punch).

And when it comes down to it, you're gonna have to leave certain things out of your lineup. It's really hard to have everything and some things are more valuable than others. Priority really shines when being boosted, like swords dancing Aegislash using Shadow Sneak, or weakness policy/Dragon Dance Dragonite and Extreme Speed, or Adaptability M.Lucario and Bullet punch/Vacuum Wave.

I say just battle with your team, maybe take my suggestions and figure out what gives you problems. Sometimes it's a Pokemon, sometimes it's inexperience. Save your battles and watch your mistakes.
