In general Smogon seems to have its head screwed on. Occasionally they get a bit lax and the complete retards on their forums accrue enough influence to get something stupid like Sand Veil banned, but they're usually pretty good at shutting that down.

And who is banned from Smogon Doubles? Nothing, not even megas.
You can't compare a double metagame with a single metagame because it's easier for a pokémon to be broken in single.

"Teams" means the original 6 mons. Garchomp/rotom being in 40% of all teams doesn't mean you'll actually fight one in 40% of all battles.

Plus rotom and garchomp being everywhere just makes using venusaur and mamoswine even more delicious.

Add to this that you're playing Doubles and therefore have more in-battle options to deal with them, and species of mon appearing commonly actually means very little.

Genesect was the second largest crutch there ever was to get bads in OU winning matches. First largest was M-Kanga.

Genesect did nothing to stop Deosharp teams you retard. U-Turning on Deo-D just gets you Red Carded and Bisharp's Sucker Punch takes off 74.5 - 88.3% which is an easy OHKO after Deo-D gets some hazards up.

Mega Kangaskhan and Gengar were broken as shit and if you don't understand why you are stupid beyond words. Lucario was not as unreasonably broken but it was still pure cancer.

They might be suspected, but they won't get banned.

Pinsir is quad-weak to stealth rock and has a whopping one viable moveset. It also doesn't have three forms of priority, like Lucario did.

Y-zard has a whopping 100 base speed. It's hard to switch in to but not hard to check or revenge kill. As a defensive player I'm honestly more scared of Mega Medicham.

X-zard is a really good dragon dancer but is about as threatening as WP Dragonite. They're both really good but neither are broken.

So what, Riolu was banworthy? That was the only user of it too. There are ways to play around that.

SwagPlay didn't exist in any form until Gen V NU, and by that time Thundurus was banned. Also Klefki didn't exist, so you couldn't fill up a whole team with 4 swagfags+ditto. I can give that one swagplayer can be dealt with, but the whole team + ditto + chansey/fairy counter is cancerous.

That doesn't help the coinflip scenario. And the better Swagplay teams have hazards for switchspam and Bisharp just for the pink blobs. How are you supposed to play around that?
