So in case you haven't heard, Nintendo is shutting down online services for Wii and DS games in May. This means that in two months' time, the GTS exploit in gen 5 will no longer work. Not that it's really pertinent. Talk about it.

I was using a flashcart to transfer genned stuff into my copy of White, I guess I'll have to go back to that. Though hopefully by that point 6th gen pokegen will finally be around.

You could still use an AR to get genned stuff to your game, but that's another thing to buy if you don't already have that.

Are you talking about Gen IV-to-V transfers or Gen V-to-VI transfers? Both of those will still work after the shutdown for different reasons.

Maybe, maybe not. It's possible that once things go down, games will give an error message before even attempting to connect, which would prevent Pokemon games from connecting to the fake servers

But it's only deadweight for them; the Gen IV online features are death by the simple fact that you need to change your internet settings in order to connect younger kids can't change their Wi-Fi security.

About the GV maybe they are just trying to get player to move to the 3ds, i mean, you have your BW/2 game but you can't do any online shit with it.

If you don't understand then please do not speculate. Fake GTS will work. When Nintendo shuts off their servers all that will do is when you attempt to connect to " Nintendo WiFi connection" you will get and error message and be sent back in game. With the separate DNS for Fake GTS it should go through because it has connected to a server

I don't know how that shit works but isn't changing the DNS makes you go to a fake server that has its own authentication? So that would mean both pokecheck and pokegts would not be affected and people could still gen/download all the pokes they want even after the official servers are down right?

This seems more like a move to force people into gen 6 than a financial move. It seems just like yesterday that everyone was using Black2/White 2.

I find it hard to believe a few servers of power use up so much money that Nintendo just feels like this is the best solution to save money.
