Considering we already have shit like PokeCheck, it's very possible. I wouldn't mind an actual GTS to keep working for gen 4/5, even if they're not played as often anymore.

Most of us are almost done with gen5 wifi, while gen4 has been a ghost town for a couple years now. (I still use it occasionally, but it's essentially dead.)

I really hope someone maintains a private server. Would be nice to play an old DS/Wii game online once in a while.

I got into Gen IV pretty late and now that the hype about X/Y has subseded am spending a good deal of time in HeartGold again, being able to EV train quickly would be nice.

I can do it, but it's not worth the effort right now. I can probably help you out tomorrow if you still need it. But for now, I'm going to sleep.
Seriously though, try to gen a Pokerus mon if possible. (don't even bother with legal stats if all you need is the virus) PokeGTS helps with getting it into your game.

Being a breederfag I try to avoid genning wherever possible, but I might use that as a last resort.
As for the network, I managed to get it to work by setting up an unprotected guest network which I toggle on and off. It only works in one of my two rooms, but at least it works at all. Switching my main connection to WEP didn't.
