If you hack a Snivy to set its Hidden Ability flag even if it doesn't have it, then send it to Gen VI, it will get Contrary. Ergo, X and Y still recognize Snivy's HA as Contrary

No. Grass/Poison is the only decent dual-type for Grass, everything else has weaknesses out the ass, most of them being 4x to Ice.

This unfortunately. Samurotts pre-evos looked better design wise and its stats were meh. Emboar I didn't care for in the slightest. Serperior was the best one. I actually like the design behind it. And it probably had the most usable stat spread among the starters. But its movepool was pitiful.

No other starter feels as classy and smug.

I really hope the mega keeps Contrary and maybe Grass/Dragon with access to Dragon Pulse (it's a tutor move, but getting STAB would be great).
And make the mega +20 Def +40Sp. At +20 Sp. Def +20 Speed.

Serperior is good for what it was. A defensive starter with o-k attack stats that was fun to play with through the single-player game. I liked its design better than the rest of the gen 5 starters.

I sure do love being walled by Heatran after one Leaf Storm hurp durp.

To fix Serperior it need:

1.) A better Typing, solo grass is shit.
2.) A different stat spread.
Fast and bulky makes zero fucking sense. It's HP needs to be higher, or it needs to lose the defensive edge for a more offensive edge.
3.) Better movepool.

Heatran isn't an answer to it, but sdef celebi is.

Serperior's problem is the lack of real coverage moves, which Contrary can't fix.

Contrary wouldn't shoot it to the top of OU but it would make it a lot less shitty. Once anything that 4x resists Grass is gone from the other team (serperior can help with that using HP Ground or Fire) you can easily just spam Specs Leafstorm.
