No it doesn't. Other servers that use wi-fi don't use Nintedo's server. You only use Ninteno's server for official things like battles and such. If your DNS is connected to a different DNS number, then you can still access the GTS...well do GTS cheats I think.

(of course you can still put the .pkm files onto the cartridge relatively easilly without the gts but i reckon a hell of a lot less people are gonna do that )

You're retarded, they're only shutting down nintendo servers, pokegen doesn't use those, it uses its own servers. It'll still work just fine.

You morons, they're COMPLETELY SHUTTING DOWN NINTENDO WFC. It's already been replaced by the Nintendo Network for current-gen consoles. That means you can't use Wi-Fi in ANY games at ALL, servers or no servers.

You can't go online with a DS or Wii game at all when the WFC is shut down. Changing the DNS won't work because the game won't even connect to the internet in order to access the DNS. It's just not how the games are programmed.

I don't think you know what WiFi is son. The only thing down are the servers, not the ability to send wireless information. At most this >>18280620 anon is right and the problem will be that before trying to reach another server it will try to go through the Ninty network. We will know when shit hits the fan.
