Dodrio. Even in the lowest tiers it still gets out-classed. At least my other honorable mentions, Mantine, SUdowoodo, and Kingler still have some usefullness.

The intention is to tank until their special defense is low enough for attacking to be efficient, of course 4x hits would be the downfall and Bastiodon happens to have terrible typing in that regard.
Regular hits wouldn't be a problem though. This thing ate up surf like a marine trench when I used it.

For a lot of pokes, a little bit of grinding is all you need to have a poke viable (and still fun) to at least use in game, but then you get guys like Bastiodon, Heatmor, Carnivine and the like who tend to drag battles out for an extra 2-3 turns, are too situational or are too high maintenance. Sometimes all three. It's even worse if they show up late in the game.

And it hurts. It hurts so bad.
