It's not the threads themselves that are considered cancer, it's their quantity. There's been a great influx of newcomers here since XY's release, and these people don't seem to understand the concept of using the catalogue or search function.
There is a Wi-Fi General up at all times, and no one minds. Why? Because it's only ever the one. People automatically go there instead of making their own, and steps are taken near the end of the thread's bump limit to create the next. This is not the case for other "generals".
You don't need to make a new thread every time someone wants to add new FC's. You don't need to make a new thread every time you got breeding fodder to give away, or a shiny to trade, or every time something makes you go "Helix be praised!". Keep it in a single thread instead of overrunning the board with the same topics over and over, so that threads discussing other stuff don't get drowned out.

The thing is, people either in reality think or pretend that this board is only for the obsessive nuts that want to fill the dex and play competitive. No other form of discussion is allowed. Anything that doesn't directly have to do with the main game series is shunned. No opinion but one. It has become acting like a spaz: the board. It's no longer even about pokemon, just projecting this idea that I'm not even sure how or why people even agreed that it was to be the prevailing thought. I personally don't care if people want this to be their super secret no maturity allowed club. Just put a notice that everyone can see that none of that stuff is allowed. If that is not what this place is, then I don't see why the people that push this idea are allowed to bully everyone into forcing their ideas down everyone's throat. Yes, I will recognize the same goes to anyone that insists their own opinion is the only one. Don't like something? Ignore it. Can't ignore it? Out you go. Too long has this idea that we HAVE to be total jerks to each other has persisted. That's not what 4chan is? Then maybe this board isn't what any of us want and none of us have any reason to be here, and this really is nothing but a den of intolerance. Congratulations, self-fulfilling prophecy.

The franchise can't help that it's mostly for children. It gets them tons of money, so they see no problem with it. Perhaps it's the people who think they're too cool for kiddy stuff should go. Seriously, though, I don't expect the franchise to recognize older fans, and that is why I make things that do what the franchise will not. There is no money to be had from trying to appeal to a niche market.

There's one anime and a couple minor one-off things no one has ever referred to by anything other than their name ever.
Quite a different situation from the manga world, were there an be like 5 different manga series running concurrently, half of them in the same magazine even.
