I agree, even though Gen 4 is my tied for my favourite gen with gen 3, it's weird to realize there's people who never beat pokémon blue/red, who never discovered missingno. and who never got to experience gen1 Mewtwo. Though they can't exactly help when they were born, I wish they played the old games instead of starting of with the phys/special split.

Gen 4 was my favourite, but seriously this is really weird. These people never had to pick Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle. They never chased Raikou, Entei and Suicune across Johto. They didn't do the puzzle to unlock the Regi Chambers.

I just can't comprehend it.

I still feel a little nostalgia when I replay Ruby and pick the Root Fossil. I got the Dome Fossil in Red, but I never figured out how to revive it into Kabuto, so Lileep was my first FossilMon and has been my favourite ever since.

Eh, it's not entirely too unusual. I didn't own a GameBoy until I was like 8 or so and I ended up starting with Gold instead of RBY. I played through FireRed, but that only counts for having seen Kanto, not experiencing true gen 1.

1:09 - When that kicks in, the theme automatically becomes good, but you have to wait a minute to hear it and then it's gone within 15 seconds.

That said, the initial minute of the XY E4 theme is also good, it just stays low key for too long.

God damn right. I'd say it's all a matter of preference; if you prefer the 'classic' style of music from gens 1-3, GSC will probably be your favorite. I think I prefer BW2 because it comes closest to the shit I'd actually listen to in my free time, but both are glorious and leagues ahead of the competition. X/Y had a lot of good music too, but none of it was -the best-.

The DS is 10 years old. Not specifically Pokemon, but this did come to mind when the shutdown of Nintendo WFC was announced. I'm gonna miss using wifi in my gen 4/5 games, even if there was a good chance of disconnecting. Pokecheck is supposed to go down as well, since Nintendo authentication is required for any game to use the online service.

I love HG/SS, but I'm not into the remade music. It sounds a bit too cluttered, as if they added a shit ton of new sounds. Only remastered track I liked was National Park, Ice Path, and the E4 theme.

Does the X/Y bike theme remind anyone else of Suburban Legends? It's just really happy and poppy, and sounds a little bit like one of their songs, although I can't quite place it.
