No, actually, it's based off the Personality Value of the Wurmple. Essentially it is "random," but RNJesus never wants to make you smile, for me I got 12 Cascoons before the first Silcoon. And this was for my living dex, so I needed 2 Silcoons.

Hasn't this changed in X/Y ?

I've read somewhere that, if the parent evolved in some form (for example, a Hitmontop) and makes eggs with a Ditto, children will become the same species as the father, even if they should become something else instead, and it worked that way to me (five children, five Hitmonlee, while three of them had to become Hitmonchans)

Nope, it's still the same for X/Y.

And Hitmontop isn't based off the personality value, as much as the actual numbered stats in the Tyrogue. If I were to breed a Tyrogue, I could get it to evolve into a Hitmonlee by force feeding it a bunch of Proteins, a Hitmonchan by force feeding it a bunch of Irons, and a Hitmontop by giving it an equal amount until both Attack and Defence are equal.

I don't get where the confusion comes from with them. Tyrogue's evolution method has been simple ever since G/S/C. Hell, even 12 year old me knew I could just force feed it vitamins to get different evolutions.

I know how Tyrogue evolves, but when I bred my Hitmonlee to get the other evolutions, and while three Tyrogues had more Defense than Attack, they still evolved into Hitmonlee.

It's determined by the EV's you gave it, and what the final stat is when it finally reaches 20+. It doesn't matter what it's hatched with, but rather at level 20+ whatever stat is greater will determine which it evolves into. That's why Hitmontop is theoretically the trickiest, because you have to find a balance between Attack and Defence, where when it levels up to 20, both have to be equal, and both have to gain the SAME amount of points upon level up.

I know that too. I trained said Tyrogues against Chanseys (so no ATK/DEF gained), and at level 20, the three Tyrogues had between 2 and 5 points more in Defense than in Attack. Still, Hitmonlees.

Funny thing about that, Lumiose is actually more efficient at least for me. Doing the Lumiose method my record was 17 boxes in a day while that method listed in the FAQ only got me around 14. Both were in the same time frame.

I use mine as an offensive Trick Room setter in Singles.

Because as a lead it needs to be prepared to take on most threats, I can't safely build him to be physically defensive as is common, so I invest in HP and make up for the decreased bulk with increased offense.

The specs are:
Quiet (+SpA -Spe) Magic Guard holding Life Orb with 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Def

The moveset is Trick Room, Psyshock, Shadow Ball, and Focus Blast for maximum coverage.

Magic Guard negates the recoil from Life Orb, so 252 SpA+ with the 1.3x multiplier makes Reuniclus hit like a truck.

Yes it does, since the data for each egg is set when you take it for the day care man. So you hatch a shiny in a certain batch and if you save before it you will hatch it again if you want a desired hatch location.

That's a good point, I hadn't thought of that. I suppose if you're breeding with different species/same ot/no oval charm, or if you're breeding Magikarp or something, just hatching in the proper area is safer. But if you can collect all 5 eggs relatively quickly and they take a good amount of time to hatch it shouldn't be a problem.

Nope. I'm testing the safari re-entry theory I came up with. It is basically the following:

One of the safaris is lucky and has higher chances than others. The lucky safari changes once you choose one.

So i'm having 10 encounters, exiting the safari and re-entering it and compare to the same number of encounters i'll do later without exiting the safari to see which method is more efficient.

As for the size, it's the same as the other 2; average.

Also as far as the friend safari is my own theory is that there is a set time after you first add a person and during that time there is a high chance to find a shiny.

Yeah, it's called "Exercise", it involves "going outside" and "walking/running/jogging" to get 4000 steps on the 3ds pedometer. It makes o-powers recharge faster.

I'm going for the Shiny Charm and although I now have every non-legendary pokemon in existence, I've hit a wall.

I can't reasonably ask for most legendaries on GTS and my copy of White, the lynchpin on which my pokebank transferal resides on, is on a flashcart that is now long-defunct due to 3DS firmware updates.

So I'm asking if anyone here with non-event legendaries would like to trade and trade back (so that we both end up with our original pokemon) with me so that I can get the legendary entries and you can get some of the more difficult standard pokemon entries.

I've got almost every final form, but If you need a pre-evolution, It's more or less a toss-up.

I've got Mewtwo, Zapdos, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, and XYZ, but still need everything else.

If anyone is willing to help me, then please say so and give a list of dex entries you need equal in number to the amount of legendaries you have.
