>>18329132You won't find it on the nidoran or male evolution pokedex entries. Nidorina and Nidoqueen entries mention frequently their adaptions and ability to defend young. They make mention of their young. They could only have young while a nidoran. They already have young, and are defending them.
Nidorans are rabbits, and it's pretty easy to assume that their breeding behaviours are similar. Normally, rabbits don't defend their young very well. And evolving to a different form to sacrifice breeding throughout the lifecycle allows them to do that.
