The two Nidoran lines. They are the archetypical Pokémon for me, and my measure for any others. A cute animal with unusual features evolves into a powerful beast, which incorporates some of the features of the animal it was inspired by into an otherwise fantastical design.

From Porygon to Porygon2 they do, and that's clever and part of why I love it. Porygon-Z is just different enough that it looks all whacked out, just like I imagine a hacked artificial Pokèmon would. They're very simple, but I like that simplicity.
