Heracross in Pokemon Crystal

Where can I find a Heracross in Pokemon Crystal? I've tried tried Azalea Town and Route 33, but all I can find are Spearow, Ekans, and Aipom. Also, what are "special trees"?

IIRC they're bigger trees that you can put honey on, or possibly just big enough to headbutt.

Note: Heracross are rarer than Chansey. So if you find Spearow and Aipom, you in the right place.

Theyre distinct trees, if you have a pokemon with headbutt, click some trees, it will give you the option of doing it

No, I know that. I mean, according to Bulbapedia, there are trees you can headbutt that have a much greater chance of dropping Heracross: 30%.

Oh wow, I skipped the 2nd half of your post.

For whatever its worth, when I played a long time ago and caught it, I had great success, IIRC, in Azalea Town in the trees behind the house where the guy who makes custom Pokeball lives
