The problem though is that a Fire-type attack can be seen coming from a mile away sans Hidden Power, so Genesect will just U-turn (granted that would do shit for damage against D-nite but you get the point).

If it's at full health Ice Beam won't kill, but any competent player will see Weakness Policy coming from a mile away and won't Ice Beam if it's at full health.

I have literally done this a hundred times in Showdown.

Unless it's a bug and that's not now it is in cartridge, that's how it works.

I went ahead and had my two alts test it out. Red Card doesn't interrupt multi hit moves at all. Mega Heracross confirmed for perfect Deosharp counter.

That is not how shit works out.

Besides, how the fuck is Gene "checking" a +2 Pinsir or a +1 Megazard X. It is not the be-all-end-all of revenge killers. Actually, Gene was HO's greatest tool, seeing as how you get free momentum and a free choice boost just by switching in.

Deoxys-D + Bisharp

Deoxys sets up Spikes and Rocks, and has Taunt with 90 base Speed. Usually holds Red Card.

Bisharp has Defiant, and a +2 Bisharp has an extremely powerful Knock Off, Sucker Punch, and Iron Head.

If you try to Defog away the hazards (usually with Mandibuzz), Bisharp switches in. Defog lowers the target's evasiveness, which triggers Defiant. Mandibuzz can't do anything to Bisharp, and most other Defoggers, like Latias, are threatened by it.

You don't want to get swept by Bisharp, so its presence deters the use of Defog.

Now that I think about it, Bisharp is the very first "Fog blocker", kind of like the way Ghosts were used as spin blockers.
