In Gen 5, if you didn't have a rain, sun, or sand team you were fucked. Teams were not diverse and only a handful of Pokemon were even used at all.

Gen VI is priority, bulky and hyper offensive.
With the meta you'll find people anti meta , so you'll also see bulky as fuck stall.

I'm not saying it was more or less balanced - I personally believe it was well balanced - I mean to say that anything is more exciting than fucking stall. People say 5th gen was boring and overcentralized when it's nowhere near as bad as 6th gen. Weather teams had plenty of counters and weren't a guaranteed win - if you lost a weather war, you were fucked, meaning weatherless was a good way to play it safe.

What kind of metagame is that? Where you have to rely on weather for a team to be any good? Besides, stall is a rare force in the hyper offensive Gen 6 OU. The top threats are all offensive, with defensive spewed about. And that's how it has been, and always will be.

This is part of why I hate the smogon "community." Obviously over centralization is a problem if you're banning certain movesets that are the only ways to make certain pokemon viable. Without swagplay, how the fuck am I supposed to make Persian viable in ou? Without Persian i'm going t have to rework my normal-mono team for the third time!

I'm confused by what you mean. Yes it has a great movepool but with speed being it's only decent stat even if you manage to set up nasty plot on your first turn you're not likely to survive an attack.
