>>18373413>Gen I and IIHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah no.
Gen III was pretty good. However there was no real competitive scene for this gen considering, you know, online play
Gen IV is hands down the best. You can use UU tiered pokemon in OU and you could do very well. A lot of variety made this one of the best competitive Gens ever. Variety and Balance are pretty much the most important aspects of having fun with the competitive game.
Gen V ripped the meta game a new asshole with a lot of hidden abilities. The UU metagame became relatively the same, but UU seemed a lot weaker and a bunch of UU pokemon became RU and NU. On the brightside, a lot of UU pokemon became OU or BL. The balance though was there but not nearly as balanced as 4.
However, Gen VI for training without pokegen. Holy shit I hate iv training. Problem is all teams are cookie cutter teams and everyone uses the same pokemon (granted, I'm guilty of this too since I use mega charizard and talonflame.) The meta in Gen VI has 0 variety. By far the worst competitive Gen so far. Hopefully Pokemon Z fixes this.
