>>18377581>NaturesThings which raise and lower a stat. For example, a Feraligatr with an Adamant nature means he has higher Attack but lower Special Attack by 10%.
>AbilitiesUnique buffs which each Pokemon has. e.g. "Intimidate" which lowers the enemy Pokemon's attack when you send your Pokemon into battle, or Levitate which makes Ground type attacks miss even if the Pokemon isn't flying type (for example, Koffing).
>Physical/Special splitThe best thing to happen to the series. In Gen 3 and before attacks are based off of Attack/Defence or Special Attack/Special Defence depending on the Type. Fire type moves are always Special. Normal type moves are always Physical. This sucked because it means some Pokemon didn't have a decent STAB; like Gyarados which had low Special Attack and thus could never utilize Water type attacks effectively.
Now a move's category is not dependent on type. Fire Punch is a physical fire move, but Flamethrower is special.
>Reusable TMsIntroduced in Gen 5. Self explanatory. Pretty fucking awesome too.
