Okay, so I need to get a genesect for a friend of mine, and a shiny ditto so I can breed a shiny rotom. I am willing to trade anything that I have, including my keldeo, shiny thundurus, tornadus, landorus, latios and latias, celebi, shiny bidoof, kyurem, zekrom, and/or reshiram. If you have a genesect, but no shiny ditto (or vice versa), that's fine, but I need to get both for my plans to work out. I can trade multiple things as well if you want more than one thing.

>>18378725 You do know that the Ditto doesn't have to be shiny to breed a shiny, just foreign?
Right?

>>18378769 No it won't. That isn't how the Masuda Method works.
You breed one Pokémon with a certain language tag with another one with a different language tag. The language tag is all that affects the shiny rate for eggs hatched.

>>18378773 actually, being shiny does add to the chances, if you look it up, you will find that out.

>>18378784 not above gen 2
trust me I know what I'm talking about

>>18378777 Trips confirms it, also shinyness of parents doesn't effect the child, only a shiny charm and foreign parent can.

>>18378784 literally retarded

>>18378784 >if you look it up, you will find that out Maybe you should take your own advice there, champ. Shiny parents only had a higher chance of breeding a shiny in gen II when shininess was based on IVs.

now that I think about it,

>>18378784 Mate, I've got quite a bit of experience with breeding shinies (I've bred about 8 or 9 of them now), and the shininess of the parent has no affect whatsoever. It did in Gen 2, but that was because a Pokémon's shininess depended on their IVs which got passed down through breeding. All you need is 1 foreign parent and the Shiny Charm.
Good luck!

>>18378814 no, for starters, this thread was meant to get me a genesect. It doesn't need to be shiny. the ditto was intended to breed a shiny, but now that it's been sorted out, no need to be jerks.
>>18378822 finally a somewhat nice person here. thanks for giving me that advice. I need to get the shiny charm, but meh.

>>18378836 while I'm at it, however, does a shiny ditto transform into the shiny of whatever it's copying?
Anonymous
>>18378836 In regards to acquiring the Shiny Charm I'd recommend either touch trading with someone with a LiveDex or mass breeding starters and asking for what you're missing on the GTS. Remember that event legendaries don't count towards getting the Shiny Charm off Professor Sycamore.

>>18378818 >you don't have to give me shit about it how new

>>18378848 no, what ditto transforms into depends on what it is facing. a normal ditto can transform into a shiny greninja if that's what it uses transform against.

>>18378822 You don't realise how bad half of these are until they are all in the same image.
