Am I too low to fight Red with only Feraligatr lv66, Ampharos lv57, Sandslash lv56, Magmar lv57, Ho-Oh lv40 (Didn't train it, I just use it for Fly)?
I think I'll have more difficult time against his Snorlax but the other ones shouldn't be too difficult?

He finished off Snorlax, died to Blastoise but took revenge on Blastoise using Thunder, He managed to survived Charizard's flamethrower and he got a critical hit on Charizard with Thunder.

Dude, at the very least, you can use one as a meat shield while you heal. There is never a disadvantage to having more mons, unless you're going to pick up an egg or mon from an NPC or something.

The main reason I didn't like Crystal is that Ampharos was not available. But in Crystal you get Phanphy and Ursaring in the same game.

I looked at his stats and his Special Attack is the lowest but I wonder if it would benefit on getting Ice Punch or Blizzard but since the Special Attack is so low I'm not sure.

I just caught a Larvitar really easily. I use Sneasel, Use one Quick Attack which it survived and threw a Great Ball. Normally I could try to throw Ultra Balls and it wouldn't get in it. It was surely luck.
