It was one thing when very few Pokemon utilizing man made objects existed, such as Magneton and Grimer. But at the same time, with some back story, you could easily explain how these pokemon came to be. But now every other Pokemon untilizes some sort of thing created by humans in it's design and almost always has unoriginal names, that couldn't make it any more obvious as to what it is based on what it's designed after.

It's an ice cream cone, it's second evolution is litterally the same thing with a bigger cone and form 3 is 2 of the same thing with a straw in it.

Then they create another dog, that looks even more like a real dog than the last.

Then when they run out of ideas for new Pokemon they just give old Pokemon new evolutions.

Yes, that is what Vanillite looks without all that extra shit on it;s body, which means that they had no real reason to make it look like an ice cream. They should have left it at that design and it would have made more sense.

You're absolutely right. Satoshi Tajiri was very fond of all things living and wanted to create creatures based off actual living animals, such as mice and tadpoles. But things like koffing, Magneton, and Grimer make no sense in the pokemon universe, it's something that even for the pokemon universe should not make any sense. How in the hell does a magnet lay an egg? No sense at all. But it;s not just the Pokemon like Vanillite. It's how unoriginal most of the new pokemon tend to be and most of them have terrible designs. And I like how there is like 500 some odd pokemon, and then out of nowhere a new 150 species just happen to be discovered and scientists are baffled, like "wow, who knew that despite the fact that I have been roaming the earth twice over and studying pokemon my whole life, I am just now discovering that there are more than 150 pokemon, pokemon that other regions have been populated with for hundreds if not thousands of years.

But that simply isn't true. And the "wow there's more!" doesn't happen since gen 3 came out.

Also i thought they were called Pocket Monsters, not Pocket Animals.

It has been said in the first season that there was only 150 pokemon, and even in Fire Red and Leaf Green, when they come across generation II pokemon, they label them as new species, yet they live directly adjacent to the region that these "new species" exist in. How can you live right next to Johto and not know there are other Pokemon in it? And what about Oak telling Ash he was just seeing things when he first saw Ho-Oh in episode 1. The Legend of Ho-Oh and Lugia, and the 3 dogs spanned much farther than Johto, but apparently not as far as it's neighboring region.

The anime is shit. It also misses Mew, it's not exactly a trustable source. FRLG were faithful to their original ones. I think even HGSS does it. Other games in the other generations don't.

Remember that gen 1 originally had 190 mons and that many glitchmons turn into real mons if you could transfer them to gen 2.

But the game came before then anime. And the premise was that there were exactly 150 Pokemon. Kanto is directly adjacent to a region with over 100 more Pokemon, and they aren't new, they have been around for centuries. Especially the dogs and 2 birds.

Not him, but I just assumed that Oak started you off with a regional dex, and in G/S/C, new pokemon are "introduced" to you that have always been there.

Hell, as far as I'm concerned, certain pokemon, like Eevee, aren't Kanto based. You find them in the wild in Kalos, not Kanto. They had to give you an Eevee in Kanto.
