>>18388782Actually, Bug isn't that bad of a type. Most of the problem is that the Pokemon themselves tend to be weak, early-game trash. The only change I'd make to the type itself is making it Super-Effective on Fairy-types. I think that much more could be accomplished by giving some of its members a secondary type that isn't Flying. I'd like to try Bug/Water Masquerain, Bug/Dragon Yanmega
mostly because of the especially monstrous descriptions it gets in the Pokedex, down to the species name containing "ogre", and Bug/Fairy Vivillion. Bug/Dark Accelgor would also be pretty sweet.
Remember, most of the game's Bug-types are irredeemable early-route trash. The few that aren't destined to be garbage usually turn out pretty well. Every single Mega Bug-type is amazing, as are a wide variety of mid-to-endgame insects. Escavalier is a beautiful tank this generation, though it's not going to be OU because Scizor exists. Hell, the second-badge sophomore Scolipede serves stoutly as a set-up sweeper or a starting supporter.
Bug hasn't been a bad type for a while, honestly. It just gets an inordinate amount of shitmons slaughtering its average, as well as a couple of spectacularly bad secondary type match-ups (Flying and Grass are the worst offenders, though Bug/Rock isn't much better) that tend to crop up at least once or twice in every generation.
>>18392787You forgot about Gengar. I don't know how, but you did. And some of the trouble with Electric-types for the previous two generations is that they haven't been fast special attackers. Things like Eelektross, Stunfisk, Luxray, and Electivire are just plain depressing.
