I recently got into pokemon again after playing only gen 1 and 2 when I was a kid.
Finished emerald and about to finish platinum, now I'm looking into gen 5 and started to realize that romhacks exist and some of them may be better than the original games.
Are there any recommended romhacks that don't change anything regarding about the story and actual game progression so they can replace Black/White and Black2/White2 for someone who never played gen5?
I looked in BlazeBlack/VoltWhite, are those good? Most of the description seems very promising to me, but the documentation shows the elite4 teams at level 70+ for the first fight. A friend warned me about romhacks often being very grindy and let's be honest here: grinding in pokemon games is neither fun nor hard, just tedious, so lots of required grinding may be a dealbreaker for me. Do you reach comparable levels to the trainers you face, including the e4, by just playing through the hack so you always stand a chance or do you have to grind for hours?
I guess this can also be a general romhacks thread.
