Drayden has this 19th century British gentleman adventurer naturalist thing going on, what with the Dragons and history shit.
Iris' name, her appearance (especially her hair and outfit), and association with mythology give her an Indian vibe to me. Plus, she becomes a Bollywood princess in the sequel.
Together, its like if British gentleman adventurer Drayden was mucking about in Poke-India, rescued Iris in some sort of Temple of Doom style adventure, and took her back to Unova.
