Then, what is pokemon battling? It's a sport, it is not done out of cruelty, or perverse amusmant? Are there not centers and hospitals everywhere, should any of your pokemon be hurt? They are given more consideration than any human is. Of course you have the folk who are cruel, but every batch has a few bad apples.
But look even further into the past. Look at history. War, violence, death on colossal scale. Look to the pictures of battles, of war. Where are the people? It is only the pokemon who fight each other, behind some banner of another. And now? No war, no more mass graves, no one will ever have to watch as a hyper beam cleaves through the torso of their friend. No one will have to watch as the flesh of their lover is burned to ash. Pokemon battling is an innocent pastime compared to watching a platoon of pokemon and people being obliterated by others. What is training pokemon, but a way they connect to each other, to forge a friendship unbreakable.
You proclaim the moral superiority of Team Plasma, but what did they seek to accomplish? They sought to dominate their region, to control, enslave. They proclaimed the freedom of pokemon as they seized power using what they claimed was horrible. They are naught but hypocrites, liars and thieves who wished to destabilize and destroy.
Do not speak to me of the horror of battling, for you know nothing of horror. Do not speak to me of the imagined slights to pokemon, you know not of what you speak.
