>>18406038You just compared getting paid through hard work to having fun and joy from a game, and getting retirement and luxuries and actually useful benefits for life through that hard work to getting a golden sticker, which only point for existing is "look I did this thing", and in no way gets you more enjoyment out of the game. And expected it to make a point with it.
Look, I'm going to make an analogy like that too: "Emily was as dedicated as a window".
Now I'm going to make your analogy work in context.
Life then:
>Your reward for doing your job is getting paid for it and not starving.Life now:
>Your reward for doing your job is getting paid for it, not starving, getting a pat on the back when you do something right or unusual, and getting your picture on the "employee of the month" wall when you do good. Also if you finish some particular tasks, you get access to a variety of things, like the printer of the coffee machine.I kinda do see where you're coming from, having a way to get recognizement for a hard thing that you did is good. The thing is, it's not the point of a game, yet at this day and age, it's all that seems to matter anymore.
If your original point was "beating hard mode unlocks a new beautiful area, or a bunch of exclusive items, or a whole lot of new pokemon, unaccesible otherwise, or in general gives me MORE game to play and enjoy", that analogy would have made some sense.
For the record, I also do want an implemented hard mode, more than just "nuzlocke but a bit harder" if possible (like a "solo run" gamemode where all you ever get to use is one pokemon, your starter, for which you can choose any pokemon that isn't a legendary).
