>>18415382Most of those 4x Rock-weak Pokemon would've been shit even without Stealth Rocks. Vanilla Charizard can't keep up with power creep, Moltres is too slow and has too many weaknesses (compare it to Hydreigon, which is better all-around and has no SR weakness), literally every Bug/Flying type is either awful all-around or too frail and slow and didn't get Quiver Dance, and Articuno was never good. True, there are some borderline cases among the innumerable 2x-to-Rock Pokemon that couldn't quite make the jump from UU to OU, but that's a far cry from the OU-to-NU claims that Stealth Rock haters blame the move for.
>>18415395Shedinja was always shit, Tyranitar was one of the gods of RSE and you needed to run a Weather move if you didn't want its mere existence to put you at 6-5. And Ninjask was typically a lead, meaning it was usually too dead to ever bother with switching into Stealth Rocks. Not to mention the fact that Baton Pass a shit, and that Ninjask has a pitiful 456 BST, little offensive presence, and shit "bulk" in Priority: The Hegemony.
And Xatu getting a huge boost from a good ability isn't that incredible in the same generation that gave us Droughtales, Drizzletoed, and Moody "literally banned from Ubers" Bidoof.
Gen I Hyper Beam was the most broken move that the game has ever seen. Right now, the broken moves are specific to the Pokemon using them, like Bravest Burd's Brave Bird and Mega Lucario's Close Combat, or are named Knock Off.
