from what I can tell /vp/ as a whole has very mixed opinions on it. You either love it or hate it here.
As an individual, I lean to the former. It's all the action, adventure, and plot i wanted from the anime. Plus the characters actually seem to know what they're doing, unlike ash.
That said I've only read through the crystal arch and really need to get caught up.

Most arcs were good, but there's stupid shit in all of them, most people are still butthurt about Emerald, and B/W was dumb as hell and also completely misinterpreted N's character.

HSGG cuts only at Pryce-Giovanni-Lance team up
BW has chapter inconsistencies and it keeps skipping a lot of chapters

it's not intended as an interpretation of N's character from the games, it's a completely different version, and a great one at that.
Remember that pokespe takes their liberties with the games, but, unlike a certain show, it does for the sake of a good story.

I like good stories. I don't think the game is a good story. I hate the badge quest, it's too petty. Even though I know it mostly only focuses on the villains, and I like that, it's too extreme. It's much too forced.

It all started with R/S/E. That's why manga had to invent storyline on its own for these arcs and followed games directly since R/S.

It is published in a kid's manga magazine in japan, and it really reads like a kid's manga to me.
That's not necessarily bad, since there's a lot of grown people who like shows aimed for kid's like Adventure Time and the like, but it's not my cup of tea.

I wish we could have some shounen or even seinen pokemon manga around, bet those would be great.

That's a funny way of spelling best.

I love how all the characters came full circle from RGB to GSC. Blue getting over her past, Blaine searching for the cure to his arm, etc. The last part of the chapter with all the dex holders thus far as well as all sixteen gym leaders trying to stop hell from breaking lose was amazing.
