What if your favourite Pokemon happen to be competitively viable? I've been a fan of Gengar, Venusaur, Scizor and Tyranitar since I was a 10 year old kid with a semi-broken GBC and an illegitimate copy of Silver. I loved them all these years and had no idea what they could do competitively until I started playing competitive in late gen 4. Seems like anything that turns out good in the meta automatically gathers hate, a perfect recent example being Aegislash. People would clamour for a ghost/steel armor poke, finally got extremely awesome possessed sword/shield, everyone went bananas. Now, a mere few months down the line, it suddenly became Smogonsword, OU:The Experience, a shit etc. Is standing out and being a goddamn hipster/special snowlake so fucking important to you? Do you ditch your faves only because they become popular?
