That means you lose out on Assault Vest, unless you want to run it and hope someone burns you, which isn't that reliable in a world where a majority of conks are Guts.

Nobody is going to try to status your Conk, sure, but lacking Guts means you can't switch him in on a predicted Wil-O-Wisp or Toxic, which is kind of the whole point.

It's like saying Heatproof Bronzong is better than Levitate because "nobody will risk trying to Earthquake you anyway!". Being unable to switch in on things you should be able to counter is not good.

Actually, Toxic/EQ/Protect/Sub was pretty ommon last gen. Fling/Acrobatics is pretty much the only other set I saw on wifi last gen, but I didn't play much towards the launch of X/Y so I'm unsure of how common that set really was.

I need look no further than the OP. Conk is the most annoying and the ugliest, I'd say. It doesn't matter if you're faster and have a super effective STAB move, he will either KO or punch a huge hole in whatever you try to kill him with. Killing a Conkledurr is a group effort at this point.

And I haven't played X or Y yet and only played in whiteblack/blackwhite2 for a brief period but haxorus always gave me problems.

As a born and naturalized scrub of Scrubica I use this set
Against smarter players they'll have a Pokemon like Landorus-T with EQ and not be afraid. SD Aegislash is a late game sweeper unless you're fighting a person who doesn't run taunt or something. It pulls off pretty reliable sweeps though.
Also Mixed Aegislash with ShadowBall/ScaredSword is more reliable if not using it as a sweeper

I carry Toxicroak so I never have to worry about being sweeped by that bunny.

Switch to Toxicroak either during the Belly Drum Turn or the attempted Aqua Jet. Have yet to have one try to Play Rough on the switch yet.
