you're ought to grind your ass for the massive jump in levels in the 7th, and 8th gyms compared to the 4th, 5th and 6th gyms which all have more or less similarly leveled pokemon, also the trainers and wild pokemon in these routes.

The first time i played Gold when i was little (where whitney is even stronger) i failed that gym like 8 times.

What do I add or replace next time I level up? Paras and Oddish's Solarbeams are TMs by the way.

I'll find a way to do as little grind as possible then. Anyhow bulbapedia doesn't say if I can unlearn a tutor move. Can I unlearn that shit when I want to learn something new or am I screwed?

dont worry about attacks, always have at least a sum of 20 pp in total of attacking moves and you're set, you can save the rest for non-damaging moves.

Luck, two potions, a super potion, making miltank run out of milkdrink and even using Gastly's suicidal curse move. Amazingly I managed to get exp for all of my party. If one of them died however I would have had to release them.

meh when i beated the league in my latest run all my party was 35-42. the only unusual thing i had was a mamoswine (i think is unobtainable in the game before the league, but i had a friend evolve it for me) the rest of the team was meganium espeon umbreon ampharos and lapras

Platinum is an actually challenging game until the end. In GSC and HG/SS, the level curve comes to a standstill after the fourth gym.

Try playing it on Set, and you'll be forced to git gud.

Soul Silver doesn't have the most Pokemon?Also I want to experience the breeding, plus happiness stuff without losing access to the 1st gens plus the new ones. Which so far Soul Silver is providing for me.

SoulSilver is Gen 4, so it has none of the Pokemon introduced in Gen 5.

I wouldn't have recommended SoulSilver if you're new to the franchise, the biggest draw of SoulSilver is the nostalgia for older fans, as it is a remake of the original Silver.

In addition, without the nostalgia I think SoulSilver has one of the least impressive main games, especially in terms of difficulty and level scaling.

I also think the towns and routes are bland compared to other ones, but that is because its a remake of an older and more technologically constricted game.

SoulSilver is more like a re-introduction to the game, as, someone who only played the first games would find a comfy place to return here. It doesn't have any pokemon from gen5, wich is also for 3DS, and even if it has kanto like in the original, by that time your team is good eough to proceed without trouble.
Black and White are more recomended for new players, since it has an original roster for your first playtrough.
Also, the game is old, you won't be able to use any online feature

Aghhh, BW2 has all the new Pokemon and 1st gen as well though right? Well after finishing Soul Silver I'll play through it, I feel like I invested too much time on Soul Silver already to not finish it.

would have been more than enough, but I was so fucking wrong. Fucking miltank forced my hand into using Gastly's curse. I just made this thread to ask if I am to expect more bullshit like this. Also the nuzlocke I'm doing is if my pokemon dies during battle I set him free, and to do minimal grinding. Minimal in the sense that I only grind when moving in between cities, once I reach a city I stop grinding and work with what I have.
