Sure, you can shoot me an email whenever you'd like, I'm just aching for some battles now that this is all started.

Yessir, both were late additions to the team. threw in rotom once I found out I couldn't use Zapdos. So it was either find another special wall (togekiss) or keep the typing dynamic. I've never really used rotom before though.

Aero replaced arcanine before I truly made a mono flying...but it fit the theme and my ocd allowed it by calling it BERD DOGE.

I did consider Rotom when I realized Zapdos wasn't allowed, but I though his typing wasn't enough to counteract his bad ability and relatively poor movepool--at least, he didn't really fit the more offensive mold I was going for.

My ideal rotom would be t-wave air slash hex and pain split, but the lack of move tutors vexes me so. Instead I just switched the last two with will o wisp and volt switch. Now he's a status spreading pivot.

I love Hex when you can get it going. My Chandelure's designed to be a hex sweeper (ie rest of team burn/poison/paralyse opponent for him, and then he Scarf sweeps up with Hex as his monstrous SpA can guarantee 1-2KOs on mostly everything)

Could have had rotom-f in my team to fill it's niche as a subsplit with dual stab coverage. It's other sets didn't really take use of it's defenses, even chesto resto didn't really work out so well due to low HP overall. On Lapras it was fine though, but that didn't do enough damage and was only considered to fend off Charizard-Y madness

Hah, I was considering crazy stuff like Weakness Policy on Avalugg, but even with his monstrous defense, you have to predict when you can get an attack in over recovering preemptively so he doesn't get 2HKO'd - lefties gives a little insurance on it.

well there are going to be several people in the same situation she is, so just matching her up with ben yo won't be a proper solution to mis-matches. she just doesn't get anything on her win/loss record. simple. the no-show gets disqualified, and that's all. i THINK as it currently stands, teh no-show actually only gets one of his two losses that counts towards Knockout, but i believe that if you dont show up for your first match, you should automatically get kicked right out. this is in addition to the fact that they almost certainly arent even going to show up for match 2 anyway, as you can see is the case with rena's opponent, lima, who said he forfeits the tourney.

You made me realize that there will be a lot more no-shows. I just counted the table and there's still 32 more matches that need to happen, meaning 64 people need to show up nad battle and only about 1/4th of those people actually go on here occasionally, meaning theres going to be a shitload of winners by default.

If we start getting over 6 people who won through disqualifications (or at least an even number), I think those people should go up against each other in round 2 to make up for their K/D. It would be fair to the people who won through battling.

i suppose, since people are fighting until they get 2 losses or are the last one left of their type, moving foward without fighting when some people had to fight and lost isn't entirely equal. but iirc, last tourney there were artificial equalizations imposed on those who got early round byes due to no-shows. such as when getting down to determining type reps, those who didn't get byes got preferential treatment- such as let's say there were 3 people left for Steel and two of them got a bye- those two would have to fight and the winner of that would fight the 3rd guy who didn't have a bye.

either way, if you can think of a better way to handle it without dragging the round on extra-long, please speak up.

the only way i can think of is extending the round by a few days so those who didn't get to fight can fight each other so that EVERYONE must actually fight in each round. i don't think this is a feasible option, though, extending the round any longer.

nah, can't do that. this is general pairings, random matchups. not swiss pairings where high seeds fight high seeds and low seeds fight low seeds. that would essentially penalize people for doing better early on by making them have to fight better opponents. that type of pairing is done to put participants in order. we haven't reached that point yet. pairings must be random this early on.

Heliolisk was a step in the right direction - an electric type with a pretty big movepool. Shame 109/109 offenses are pretty mediocre compared to most stuff nowadays.

Some more things with recovery, good movepools, good bulk, and/or great stats would be fantastic

electric is a pretty good defensive type, especially when you've got something that can get rid of your ground weakness like rotom or zapdos

like I could manage pretty well against a bug or fighting team with my dark team but I had no hope against a fairy team

There's plenty of flying pokemon that are neutral to things it's weak to, like skarmory, gliscor, regular gyara, etc
