I kept telling everybody that Starmie would drop this generation. Rapid Spin is longer a prized possession with Defog being the new spin. The same went for both FOrretress and Tentacruel.

So long as he keeps his stat spread, and Ghost keeps on being ghost type, he will never fall out.

Starmie fell mainly because of Rapid Spin being less valuable in general. Many people would argue against me that boltbeam was still useful, and I would often tell them that Starmie is too weak and fragile to be able to pull that off, at least with all this power creep going around. That useless psychic typing doesn't help against Knock Off and Foul Play: The meta.

Stoutland has Baby Doll Eyes, which combined with Intimidate gets the opposing player at -2, and Baby Doll Eyes has priority. Escavalier was given Drill Run as an egg move, has Knock Off in its arsenal, plus the Overcoat buff.

Starmie dropping to UU is actually really good because UU needs some good spinners. It, foretress, and donphan will be good in UU instead of just scraping the bottom of the OU barrel.

1) Defog was buffed so now it clears hazards on both sides of the field. This is a good thing.
It also lowers the target's evasion. Bisharp has defiant, which means it can get a free +2 from switching into a defog. This is how it "counters" defog.
And not much likes to deal with a +2 sucker punch.

2) Knock off was buffed to 65 BP, or 95ish BP if the target has an item. It is now the most spammable move in the game

3) Deosharp is a strategy where you use deoxys (D or S) to lay down hazards, then have bisharp on your team to discourage the opponent from defogging them away.
It's frequently paired with aegislash as a spin blocker.

He's also a fantastic trapper.

It already resists Dark and Ghost, so it doesn't particularly care about only resisting them 1/2 as opposed to 1/4. But now it can spam a buffed Knock Off or Sucker Punch and hit a lot of things that could previously take hits very hard.

I mean not even in UU. It's not good, period. It wasn't good in gen 5 and now what absolutely every fighting type has Knock Off it's even worse.

It can take hits like a champ but that is literally it. It's way too passive for any remotely offensive team and it doesn't have recovery outside of Pain Split, making it completely unappealing to defensive teams, too.

The kami trio are pretty good (and some formes ended up being banned last gen), but calling to ban all legendaries so as not to see the kami trio ever again is like using a nuke to kill a bear. Who knows, a few might end up in Ubers like last gen.

Pretty much a combination of a great typing (shared only with Lanturn and Chinchou) that resists a lot of the common OU threats, Levitate, great stats which allow it to serve a number of roles (tank, sweeper, etc.) and access to Trick.

Electric/water with levitate giving it one weakness with good bulk make it pretty decent. Also access to scald.
