You need the GTS to use PokéGen, dumbass, unless you're planning on using pointless Action Replay codes every time you want a "totally legit" Pokémon.

I'm fine with Gen 6 PokéGen, whenever it may come. What I don't like is people stuck in denial that they'll still be able to connect to the DNS for Gen 4 and 5 PokéGen.

The workaround is genning your pokemon and putting them on a flashcart, then trading them locally over to a legit copy and transporting them to gen 6.

This. I own a Black cartridge, and I've got Black 2 on a flash cart, so before my free trial expired I Genned everything I could onto Black 2, traded them all one by one onto Black, then transferred them through PokeBank.

Just because Nintendo WFC will go down doesn't mean you still can't use Gen. I think the only thing that it would affect is people using the GTS to attain their Pokemon from PokeCheck, but if you have flash carts or some way to transfer them over to legit cartridges, you're fine.

And the person who you intially replied to said "Wi-Fi", not "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection". They were talking about Pokegen not requiring the internet at all, not using other DNS servers to bypass the WFC which is how you interpreted it.

I don't use online or a fake GTS to transfer Pokemon. I rip the save file from my cartridge, batch-add the Pokemon I want to the save file in Pokegen, reupload to my cartridge, and bank to Gen 6. I find it faster than the "one at a time" GTS method when I need multiple Pokemon at once.
