Don't forget you can farm a few from certain route battles as well.
But yeah, thank god most the stone evolves that are worthwhile that you need several stones for, aren't training locked. Only dusk/shiny really.

I heard you have the chance to get 3 stones fighting the Inverse Battle and getting perfect victory, but it's mixed up with berries and can only be played once per day.

I forget if ID changes so I didn't mention that one. I've seen it said before that it does, but I can't confirm for sure because I don't remember.
The PID seems to change a bit but only slightly, not really an issue there unless they bring back the shit where the PID is generated based on your trainer's ID and a bunch of other shit again. I fucking hated gen4 for that.
SID changes as well, I'm pretty sure, to your own value, which may explain the normal ID change because the SID has to match up with the ID or you get an invalid combination. That was a common issue with pokegenning gen4 pokes.
The trash bytes you can't see anywhere for gen6 currently, but if it's anything like gen4/5 pokes, those fuck up at almost anything you do, so it's safe to assume they get messed up, even if only a little.
I've only used the shiny code a couple times and checked my pokemon and they seemed messed up when I checked them so I gave up on it. Its easier to just instacheck them (in my opinion) and if you want them to be your own pokemon, just create multiple saves so you have multiple shiny values you can backup whenever you need them.

You can farm thunder stones on routes 9 and 18 with rock slide. I had best luck on 9 personally.
And not many pokemon actually need dawn stones.

I'm still getting another one when I get paid tomorrow. My last one is m.i.a. and I only really use the item codes to save me time anyhow. That and I use it on other games. As far as I've heard, only the codes for the unobtainable/unusable/untradable shit is gone anyhow. I can just wait for the releases of them. The infinite PPmax is still a godsend.

also i can confirm IF YOU MADE A SAVE BACKUP OF THE EVENT IT CAN BE RESTORED also if you have one and want to clone it you can backup save put it in bank restore save now you have 2 of them repeat that for more.
