Are the side stories worth playing?
I've already finished like 10 and it's the same shit every time, conquer everything but with other warlords.

Anyway, there's no real incentive on 100% beating it, just play as much as you want, then put it down till you ever feel the need to pick it up again.

Not really.

As little story as there is in the first playthrough, there is somehow even less in the side stories. It's awful. Literally like 1 "cutscene," by which I mean a couple of textboxes, at the beginning telling you to unify all the regions and that's it.

I loved this game so much but purely for the gameplay reasons. The story is such shit.

That said. Don't forget to download all DLC/Sidemissions now before Nintendo Wi-Fi connection goes down.

Nope. In fact, the "ultimate" story that you unlock after finishing everything else is much easier than the main story - not only you start with Nobunaga in your roster, as all the fights are just an army of nonevolved pokemon and their leader, who uses the single fully-evolved pokémon of their army.

My real pick with the game is that you need to deliberately hold yourself back for decades in each campaign if you want to see the enemies at their full strenght.

So, getting the true partner to each Warlord and evolving them is just optional.
