And actually for the models it's more a case of straight-up importing all the models from Colosseum/XD for Gen1-3 Pokemon. Colosseum/XD was already using slightly-touched-up models from Stadium. So that's why Gen1/2 Pokemon look really low-poly, Gen3 look somewhat low-poly, and Gen4 look extremely high-quality and rounded.
My dream game is a mash-up of both Colosseum/XD RPG story mode and Stadium-style extra modes. Fucking loved both sets of games, and I think a combination of the two would be the ultimate console Pokemon game.
