What if there were more than just shinies?

What if there were significant alterations?

What if these alterations came with stat/type changes exclusive to those forms?

what if crystal onix existed?

Say you have a pure red form and a pure white form, breed them together and get a pink form. Breed to pinks together and have a 50% chance to get pink and a 25% to get red or white.

Shines shouldnt exist, it should instead have it so each pokemon have about 10 different color pallets of differing rarity. Most of them would keep the general color scheme, but one or two would stray far from it and those would be the rarest ones.

Ehh, I like this, but taking away the value of shones would make a LOT of fans butthurt.

Maybe have the organic Pokemon all get a wider pallet variation, or location- and season-specific patterns. Shinies are always the same color so as shinyfags don't get pissed when their hard-to-find 'mon isn't the right color of shiny.

I think Alpha's should be a thing now that we have horde battles. They wouldn't be TOO radically different, maybe have an alt idle animation or a special pattern, and whenever a wild Pokemon rolls up a 31 IV somewhere it becomes an Alpha version of itself.

These ideas are fantastic. Pokemon would be so much better with ideas like this. Though, the alpha idea might need a little tweaking. Kinda like how Pumpkaboo is.

Alphas aren't any different from regular versions save for either a special pattern or idle animation. It's just a cosmetic effect of having at least one 31 IV.

Maybe have it be:
>Wild-caught Alphas need only one max IV
>Bred Alphas need 3+ max IVs

Or, a thought:

>Any fully EV-trained Pokemon gains the Alpha idle
>Wild Alphas will have their two best stats fully EV-trained

Also, did they figure out the Pumpkaboo formula?

I see what you're getting at. Maybe make alphas just a super rare. Like 3 max IV's is a thing that's like a 1/40 chance to find in the wild. Cause, they are alphas. They need to be pretty bad ass.

I agree 100%, I've had this idea as well.

Although 10 color pallets is kind of a lot. I guess it should vary depending on the Pokemon with some Pokemon having more variations than others. And variations you can only get through breeding.

No, it's more of a (1/32)^3 chance of happening. Alphas would be rare too find in the pokemon world but not as rare as on 4chan

Shinies are as rare as a genetic mutation. Alphas are MUCH more common. Running into an alpha would be an ONLY hoard battle thing, and then the chance from that alone would be like 1/30 chance. It's something to hunt for, but not something TOO special to hunt for.

That's not right. That would be the chance if you wanted a specific three IVs to be perfect (Say, HP Attack and Speed). In fact, if you just want any combination of three IVs, it's (1/32)^3 * (6 choose 3)

Which is about 0.06%

You could just set it so one pokemon in the horde has a set chance to be guaranteed with 3IVs and the "alpha" animation/pattern. Like, 1/150 chance or something.
