Like OP I love signature shit, and I tried sticking with Shuriken, but it was so weak that I couldn't even kill shit with it in-game.
I had very slight success with it in a post game team I made though.
Believe it or not, I made him for my Trick Room team, Mat Block on first turn to allow Trick set up, then Water Shuriken and Shadow Sneak to allow first strikes even under room, and then U-turn to round off to allow him to get out of there to come back later and use Mat Block again as needed.
It never really killed anything, but it was fun finding a set that used both its signature moves and still found itself useful in some way, and when King's Rock Shuriken caused flinch it helped a lot and was pretty fun.
Truth be told though, Water Shuriken is gimmicky, and over all is a sucky move. If it only had fucking 25 BP, it'd be all aboard the rape train.
