I finally got 105 Straight Wins in the Battle Tower, earning the Gold Shield. No clue how many attempts, but the gameplay timer is at 244:38... so much wasted time fuck.

Only thing left is the Gold Symbol for the Battle Factory and everything is done in Emerald version FOREVER NEVER AGAIN.

The 105 Win team in the Tower was:
Latios@Lum
Timid, 252SpAtk/Spd
Psychic/Dragow Claw/Thunderbolt/Surf

Metagross@Leftovers
Adamant 252Atk/HP
Meteor Mash/Earthquake/Aerial Ace/Explosion

Slaking@Choice Band
Jolly 252Spd/Atk
Double-Edge/Shadow Ball/Earthquake/Rock Slide

Latios takes down most stuff, switch to Metagross if the opponent has STAB super-effective. Metagross hits a lot of stuff, blows up when it can. Slaking comes in as a revenge killer and can OHKO way too much stuff (Even every variant of Swampert and Lapras). If Metagross Exploded, Slaking came in after for an almost guaranteed 2 KOs. Shit was awesome.

I finally beat the Battle Palace using a Sassy Swampert with only Surf/Earthquake/Ice Beam. Little bastard tore through everything with 88% chance of using an offensive move.

Slaking wins the Battle Pyramid like a champ, and Heracross owns the Battle Arena.

Using a Shedinja on Tucker's Gold team was glorious. He could do NOTHING to hit it.

Most of the Battle Dome was a fairly standard Starmie and Slaking wailing on everyone.

But really, it's fucking hilarious to use a Shedinja on Tucker. You just Sword's Dance in his face and then proceed to wipe the floor with his team. He has no Ghost/Fire/Flying/Dark/Rock type moves, no status effects, no weather, no leech seed, nothing. It counters his entire team with one, sad little pokemon. All you need is Swords Dance, Shadow Ball, and Silver Wind.

I really can't get over how much Slaking dominates the Battle Frontier. Wild pokemon battles become a nuisance in the Pyramid rather than a threat if your Slaking has Return/Aerial Ace/Earthquake/Shadow Ball.

I just beat Ingo in the Super Single Line and won a trophy

Now if only if I could do the same for Super Double. I feel that double battles are luck-oriented.

Fuck yeah anon! I feel like the Battle (Thing) Challenges are much harder in newer gens, if only because of the overwhelming amount of Pokemon to have to deal with.

But nah really it's BS that the events are inaccessible after they're done (if they ever happened). That is something that actually annoys the fuck out of me for the games. If you have an event item, you can NEVER start your game over without losing it or cheating it back into the game. Particularly annoying for Gens IV and V when you can't redistribute the event items like you can the pokemon.

Does anyone find themselves enjoying GenIII more than GenV? Something about GenV doesn't sit right with me... either the lack of real gameplay/graphical advancement, the total reliance on the now non-functional WiFi access, or that the game is extremely linear... or all of the above.

Sure GenIII has a shitton of faults, I just find myself more willing to look the other way on them.
