I really really love the concept of a haunted forest

Phantump's design is the perfect level of spooky and cute, with Trevenant's being a good balance of intimidating but also sort of protective.

Ghost and Grass are my two favorite types

The backstories for Phantump and Trevenant are interesting, tragic, and spooky.

And its playstyle is really neat to me.

I think its design is pretty neat. I always liked the way mafia bosses dressed and i love birds. It also has a fluffy beard, which is nice. Though i don't like the forced maymays involving it.

Blaziken was my first Pokemon, I love fire types and I though his design was really cool. I would almost always choose him when playing Pokemon ( I kinda did this thing where I would play through the game and then start over.) plus back then I only used my starter and nothing else so naturally I would get a real connection with him (and her on occasion)

Arcanine has been my bro from the start. He's majestic as fuck, powerful, and I can ride my own personal flamethrower.

Golduck! I don't know why. I had a Psyduck and since I only run my ship with a Shiny team I had free spots so just temp'd a Psyduck in there for backup.

Well as it was going along in Silver version it just kind of gradually stuck around. I trained it and when I went to the footprint in the sand lady she told me what he thought.

My Psyduck told me that everyone thought it was stupid. But I had believed in him as a trainer and he would do everything he could to be the best.

The rest is history. He's a perma on my SS team and well loved.

Liked it the moment i saw it. I like the idea of a bipedal fire badger echidna, and it's almost my height too I'm 20, shut up so we're both manlets, except i'm shorter. I don't see Typhlosion as a badass destruction monster like everybody does, but i see it as a happy chill guy. I don't want to fuck it either.

Back in Emerald I couldn't get past Juan's Gym and make it to the elite four. So I got Lanturn as a last resort because no one in my team could fight his Kingdra. I didn't expect him to do anything and that he would only prove useful for damaging and paralyzing Kingdra. Instead he ends up rekting Juan's entire team and finally advancing me forward.

Ever since Sapphire, this unlikely mofo started off as a whim. Remember some npc trainers using its prevos to kick my underleveled ass with, so once I encountered the little prick I jumped right at the opportunity to catch it.

Sucked at first, frail as fuck. Almost everything OKO'd it. Then on one fateful day, it learned HJK. As if that wasn't enough, it evolved almost immediately after. Rest is history.

I have always loved Steel types. Ever since I first found out about Steven Stone I thought they were the coolest type ever introduced, and the introduction of Fairy type did nothing but make my life easier. When I first encountered Aron while in Granite Cave, during my first run in Ruby, I knew I needed it. After tons of training, and many battles won, I managed to beat the game with her. I have since transferred her all the way to X and Y, and the Mega only made things even better. Its probably the best Mega defensively, I still have my fingers crossed for Mega Metagross.

Tyranitar (not necessarily mega) has been a strong member of my team almost every gen but recently its taken its place as my top bro, robbing both Gengar and Absol of the mantle.

The earthen reptile feel really does it for me, especially given Tyranitar's abilities as a heavy hitting wall. I'm a big fan of Tyranitar's dex entries too, and picturing the thing getting pissed off and leveling a mountain has always tickled me.

Long ago, during the height of popularity, two brothers got the same game. One brother got red, the other blue. Though there were rivals within the game, nothing compared to the genuine rivalry between the two brothers.

The brother with red, however, often had less to do after school. Choosing red due to his love of fire types, his team would've been weak against water, if the brother with blue had picked a less-balanced team.

In the end, Blue constantly lost to Red. His team shifted, he trained them hard, but his brother bested his team time and time again.

The two brothers soon defeated the elite four and their false rivals, but there could only be one champion. Past victories aside, this final battle would decide the true champion of Kanto.

Blue had been training, but his team was falling. It seemed history would soon repeat itself, even his blastoise fell to a lucky critical. All that remained on his team was a somewhat underleveled vaporeon, against his brother's final pokemon, a charizard. Weaknesses aside, there was too much of a level gap. His brother was going to one-shot his final pokemon.

But it was not to be. While charizard got the first hit in, his attack missed. Could he really do enough damage? It was his only shot. Hydro pump was used...a critical hit. Super effective. His brother retaliated, but missed again. Water gun finished his charizard off and Blue's first win was the biggest ever. His brother dethroned and him now self-proclaimed champion, he had only his vaporeon to thank, along with copious amounts of luck.

...Since then, iv'e had a vaporeon in my team whenever possible. For luck.

I love the sheer juxtaposition present in his design. His colors are the inverse of his pre-evos; his evolution method is friendship, and yet he maintains an angry expression. Just to add to this, he preforms very well in battle. He's fast as all hell and has the offensive and defensive capabilities to stand his ground. His unique typing makes him stand out from a crowd, and he single-handedly saved the Zubat line from mediocrity.

Put simply, he is a shining example of a good Pokemon.

This dude is total bro-tier because he pulled my team out of tight spots so often!

Now, his daughter is in training to take over in my new X/Y game. She super trained in DEF and SpDEF, is now a "perfect" pokemon, and already have the helmet. She just made me won the second gym badge by standing still, chugging soda pops. Yes, she's under levelled and she miss some key moves, but one day, the Ferrowseed she is will evolve into a Ferrowthorn and she will own the place.

he's a poison type so he doesn't get posioned, posion point ability is awesome nuf said
did i mention he was poison type so black sludge heals him
ground type so no electric attacks on him either
wide variety of TM's that can be used on nido king and the ones he can't learn nido queen has all these great points too but has the other half of the TM list

Dragonite has always been my go to pokemon ever since i put in all the time and effort to train my first one. Since then i've always had one in my team, sometimes two. He always bails me out in a pinch and has yet to ever let me down.
