You keep fighting all the battles Callum gives you. You go until the finals. Once finals start, the elimination count resets. So if you lose once before finals and make it to Poison rep, you can lose once again and still win the tournament: see Heather last time.

In a 3v3 battle, you would just pick the inducer and abusers that fit your opponent best. is that managable? has it maybe even been done before, or is it a bad idea alltogether?

Mega Absol is good, but keeping it out in the face of Whimsicott is not good, what with Moonblast and all.
Sableye was a bad pick for most of daniel's team, since he has a lot of powerful special attackers.
Honchkrow had potential to do a lot of damage, but leaving it out when Encored is not good. Brave Bird is what you want, so switching to Sableye would have been best. Sableye could burn Abomasnow before dying, which would help with Ice Shard. Even if you couldn't win, it's important to play like you could so you don't get lazy.
