Not terribly. That said, he's not totally useless; Levitate is a cool ability by removing a weakness, and he gets reliable recovery in Moonlight in addition to Stealth Rock. He's also slow enough to probably do some cool work with Trick Room, with alright special stats.
Would be cool if he could evolve and run Eviolite, though.

You could try a set with Rock Polish, Trick Room or Choice Itens, but it is pretty outclassed by most of the Special Sweppers of the game.

For the sets I just showed, Rock Polish for sure was the best of them.

The original name of dark type is "evil" type, and every dark type pokemon is mischievous or violent.
Lunatone is just a living rock that comes from space, nothing evil about it.
