My first favorite pokemon. Still love it to this day. Just a shame Donphan outclasses it in literally every way.

Its closest animal inspirations would be the edchina and pangolin, I suppose, but still, I think it's enough of a difference.

Ironically I the OP am actually half African, and currently live in the whitest part of Louisville. I hate rap music and find thug culture demeaning, yet I find his design too clever to dislike. Also, he has other influences on his design, aside from just gangsters. Grunge/Punk is the only one I'm remembering though.
