Not VI, but I was playing Black 2 yesterday, trying to get a Modest natured Latios. I had already caught around 30 Latios, but none of them were the nature I wanted.
Then a shiny Latios appeared and I didn't even care if it was Modest or not, but I wanted it. I used Night Slash and the fucking hit critted, OHKOing Latios.
Fuck. At least I got a Modest natured Latios not long after, but I'm still disappointed.

I've been playing since the damn thing came out in the states and I never encountered a wild shiny.

First day of release, I wondertraded some random mon out and got a Japanese Espurr, and for some reason I thought they were rare so I wanted to breed them and WT them out. Less than a box in, I hatched a shiny.

Hell, most of the shinies I have I caught at full health with Luxury Balls. It's remarkably easy to catch most things aside from shit like Chansey and Beldum.

My first shiny was on X, thanks to a Friend Safari. It was a male Lillipup with Jolly nature and decent IVs. I nicknamed him after one of my bros.

A few months later, I caught a female one with the same nature and almost the same IVs. I nicknamed her Laika because of Space Dandy.

I just had to get him. I've tried casually to hunt for shinies in the past but with no luck, and then last year everything came together and there was just no way I couldn't not try my hardest to get him. So I first hunted a Super Size female, caught her in a Premier Ball, and then MM'd with a Japanese Ralts for a father. A little over 200 eggs later he hatched, and he was the first shiny I've ever encountered in all six gens (not counting events, gifts, and shit like the Red Gyarados). I named him Samhain, after the druidic god of death and the fall harvest.

I decided I wanted to breed a Kangaskhan for Megamom w/ Seismic Toss. It was my first attempt at breeding so I had no idea that Seismic toss was an event move. I found out after breeding a round of eggs and I stopped. Months later I was cleaning out my boxes and wondertraded a couple of them randomly, leaving about two kangaskhan's left that I was saving for giveaways later.

I inspected the remaining two and found that one of them had a red star in it's summary and realized that I had bred a shiny kangaskhan with 3 perfect IV's and jolly nature in five eggs or less.
