I prefer shiny Chesnaught to the regular one. I'm not a fan of the light beige shell, green looks so much better (and makes more sense really).

Maybe Cloyster and Clamperl if the "Pokemon" is the pearl itself.

No way Omastar, Carracosta or Torkoal should have gotten it. It's pretty gross, if you think about it. And yes I know Omastar and Carracosta are two of the best users of it... Easily could have changed the concept of the attack without changing the effect.

Is Chesnaught really any good? I remember when X/Y first came out, Chesnaught and Delphox were considered weak and everyone just used Protean Greninja.

Pretty fun mon. It actually doesn't need much defense to reliably counter threats like Tyranitar, and the added attack assures he can't be set up on. Can't do shit to Talonflame obviously, but the bird pretty much always dies trying to take him down.

Macargo pokedex entry makes mention of the fact it's she'll is hardened magma and flaky as fuck. Crustle is a hermit crab so again it makes sense.

I think it not having drain punch hurts it badly. As long as it gets it via the tutors in the follow up, it will become useful. Plan is:

It's decent enough. Bulletproof is a really good ability on it, letting it wall Aegislash pretty effectively.

Just popping in to say that spikes are ass on Chesnaught, don't run them. You bait in so many common defoggers/spinners that you can't do shit to that it's not even funny. Sub is a much better option for getting free seeds or free spiky shield damage on whatever wants to switch in. You can even run another coverage move if you feel like it.

Because Fighting/Rock hits more anti-Chesnaught Pokemon neutrally or better than Fighting/Ground can. I do loath Stone Miss with a burning passion, though. I almost never use it unless it's STAB.

It's pretty good all around, Iv'e always wanted a Grass starter that can effectively use Wood Hammer. Hammer Arm can eat a dick though, Chesnaught is NOT a Trick Room sweeper and HA being the stongest Fighting move is bullshit. Drain Punch/Low Kick would be fantastic on it for recover/(raw power in OU mostly). Leech Seed/Synthesis is a nice option for recovery, but more time than most all you'll be doing is hitting stuff/laying Spikes.
